MILL SPRING, North Carolina, April 23, 2017–Heather Blitz and Praestemarkens Quatero won the Tryon CDI3* Intermediate 1 Freestyle Sunday to cap a three-event sweep in their debut international competition.

Heather and the eight-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding were awarded 74.250 per cent in the Freestyle that was completed two weeks ago. Heather of Loxahatchee, Florida and Quatero won both the Prix St. Georges Friday and the Intermediate 1 Saturday at the Tryon International Equestrian Center.

Canada’s Christilot Boylen and Rockylane placed second place on 72.600 per cent and Ashley Holzer of New York on Radondo was third on 71.775 per cent.

Heather said that in the two years she has been riding Quatero, “it’s been all about learning to trust each other from day one. Whatever he has in his mind is what he’s passionate about, so now that I’ve gained his trust he passionately wants to please me.

“His willingness to listen to me was phenomenal this week; especially knowing that deep down he was very nervous. He stuck with me and I thought the strength for us this week was his steadiness. He flows really well and he’s a powerful horse, which comes across quite impressively in the ring.”
