The Pan American Games dressage teams for Chile, Colombia, Costa Rico, Guatemala and Venezuela were named Wednesday, with all combinations to compete at Small Tour in the continental championships in Toronto next month.
The teams whose travel is managed by The Dutta Corp. are::
Chile
Virginia Yarur, 48 years old, and Finn, 10 year-old Rhinelander gelding. The pair have competed in Florida and Canada since the beginning of the year, including the Nations Cup in Wellington.
Oscar Coddou, will be 60 years old by the time of the Games, and Amarillo VDL, 10-year-old KWPN stallion. Oscar competed in the 2007 Pan Ams in Rio de Janeiro and, on Amarillo, rode for Chile in the 2014 South American Games.
Julio Fonseca, 55 years old, and Wettkong, nine-year-old Hanoverian gelding. The pair competed for Chile in the 2014 South American Games.
Colombia
Marco Bernal, 53 years old, and Farewell IV, 14-year-old Westfalen stallion. Won Intermediate Freestyle at Central American & Caribbean Games in 2014 and was on the bronze medal team at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico
Juan Mauricio Sanchez, 64 years old, and First Fisherman, 13 year-old Hanoverian gelding. Competed for Colombia at Pan American Games in Guadalajara in 2011 and Bolivarian Games in Lima, Peru in 2013.
Maria A. Aponte, 18 years old, and Pretty Woman, 10-year-old Oldenburg mare. Competed as both Young Rider and a member of Colombia’s team in the Nations Cup in Florida in the winter of 2015.
Raul Corchuelo, 43 years old, and Beckham, 15-year-old Hanoverian gelding. Represented Colombia at 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games.
Constanza Jaramillo, 44 years old, and Wakana, 15-year-old Sachsen-Thüringen mare. The horse was originally trained and competed by German Olympic gold medal rider Ulla Salzgeber. Constanza and Wakana competed at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara and moved up to Grand Prix in Europe in 2012 but dropped back to Small Tour for this year’s Pan Ams.
The reserve from the above Colombia combinations will be named later.
Costa Rico
Christer Egerstrom, 58 years old, and Bello Oriente, 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding. Christer competed at the 2007 Pan American Games and, on Bello Oriente at the 2013 Central American Games and the 2014 Central American & Caribbean Games.
Anne Marie Egerstrom, 22 years old, and Amorino, 19-year-old Warmblood gelding, The pair rode for Costa Rica at the 2014 Central American & Caribbean Games and at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara.
Michelle Batalla, 48 years old, and Ferro, 18-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion, or Westergardens Vivi Light, 14-year-old Danish Warmblood mare. Michelle competed Ferro at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara and the 2013 Central American Games. She rode Westergardens Vivi Light at last year’s Central American & Caribbean Games.
Guatemala
Andrea Schorpp, 24 years old, and Zedrick Dyloma, 11-year-old KWPN gelding. The pair competed for Guatemala at the Central American & Caribbean Games last year and on the Florida winter circuit this year.
Alexandra Dominguez, 19 years old, and Beijing A, nine-year-old KWPN mare. The duo competed in Florida this winter, including representing Guatemala in the Nations Cup.
